Da’Shawn E. McCallum is a young entrepreneur on the move!  

Currently a student at Hillside High School, in Durham, North Carolina this young man is setting a powerful example for his peers.   

From the young age of five, Da'Shawn began speaking into his own

life; declaring that he would be something great!  It didn't take 

Da'Shawn long to figure out the first way to set himself apart from the

 typical youth; by simply showing his desire to serve his mom.   

Da'Shawn discovered his design talent one day, as his mother

La’Shaunda Lofton, was trying to create a candy bouquet, 

while servicing her business clients.  As a licensed hair stylist,  

La'Shaunda found herself overwhelmed trying to balance it all and 

Da'Shawn saw that she needed his help and didn't hesitate to step in.

Ever since Da'Shawn grabbed his first pile of candy and started

creating bouquets, he fell in love with his newly-found  gift.  His first order was made on October 15, 2016.  Chocolate 

creations are his favorite, even though he prefers to eat starburst 

and skittles! Over the last year, Da'Shawn has created candy bouquets, animal and object sculptures, baskets and more.  

With assistance from his mother, Da'Shawn launched his very own business, Kreative Kravingz.  

Da'Shawn now provides a mobile candy service, taking orders 

for delivery and setting up at vending events to sell his candy 

creations.  He has been featured in community newspapers 

and highlighted on local news stations.   Even though he is 

known for his candy bouquets, Da'Shawn's long term goal is to

expand his business by adding  tasty desserts to his menu as well.
